this early Browning rifle was made by Jonathan Browning in Brushy Fork Tennessee in the late 1820's. in the early 1830's Jonathan moved his family to Quincy Illinois where he started working on his repeating rifles. (Jonathan Browning history) 

this rifle is a .43 caliber, 33" octagon barrel, with copper blade front sight and open sporting rear sight, top of the barrel is signed in script "J Browning" barrel breech with drum conversion to percussion cap with screw clean out plug. percussion lock without marking, double set triggers, brass crescent butt plate, full walnut stock with hole bored on right side of butt which was container inlaid for patches and caps. this rifle comes with affidavit letter from the great great grandson of Jonathan Browning and how it was passed down in his family.
